Society as usual softpeddles anything to do with morals or ethics. Being gay may have a genetic factor but so does alot of inherited conditions. But like many conditions being gay is down to a choice.

no, being gay isnt a choice. did you CHOOSE to be straight? probably not. and if so, why did you choose that?

chances are you'll say you didnt choose to be straight, so isnt it possible that there are others out there that just are what they are and didnt choose to be that way?

now, whether or not a gay person chooses to ACT on how they feel is different. you might be attracted to men, but you're choosing not to act on it. and if that works for you, thats fine. but i think the world would be a lot better off if people just were honest about who they are and what they are, and we all could say "thats fine, i dont have to like the idea, but as long as you're not hurting anyone, have a good day".

but if sexuality is a choice, i'd really love to hear your story of how you chose to be straight. i've known a lot of gay people, and never heard "yeah, i decided it'd be best for me".

Nope. For some people, it might be a choice, but there are people for whom it is genetically certain that they will either be gay or extremely unhappy. Being gay is no more a choice than being black. You can deny it, but it's still going to be there.

If you knew any actual gay people you wouldn't be so stupid. Furthermore, what difference does it make? If it's a choice, does that then give you the right to make moral judgments about it? And if it's genetic, aren't you still free to make your moral judgments if you want?

This is not like alcoholism, which is clearly harmful, and people use the "it's a disease" as an excuse to remove personal responsibility for the condition. Gayness doesn't need to be defended, so whether it's natural or a choice doesn't matter.

It kills me how we have put labels on this sort of thing first off this thing you call "gay" Exist in everyone. They CHOOSE not to be gay Being straight as you called it is actually natural we don't survive as a human race with everyone being gay. Everything we do in life is a choice, but sure we do have consequences but its still a choice. Also here is another thong you should think about if its not a choice to be gay it should be a gay gene people should be inherited with NOPE we couldn't surivie like that. Read some acticles about gay people turning their life around and getting married to women and having children or women getting married and having a child then leaving them for another woman. Wake up evidence is all around you. Sorry for the bad punctuation and bad sentence structure lol

Why do you care about other lifestyle choices? it should be a matter of opinion, instead of being a moral issue, by the way, i want you to tell me what morals are okay? Ive answered your last 5 questions and morals are in all but one, so tell me, what are morals?

and stop using words you dont know you 10 year old with an opinion that doesnt count.

"let people be as they be"

Its not genetic and definately not a "condition". The choice of being gay is whether or not you stay in the closet your entire life! Im bi-sexual and my entire family is straight, so with your logic how do you explain that? I choose to live my life with a man, but that doesnt mean im not still attracted to women as well.

Science is pretty sure that it's not 100% genetic, but no researcher has concluded that it's a "choice". Anyway, you're preaching, not asking. How ever do you believe that being gay is immoral?

What you've obviously failed to mention is that that choice boils down to being free of miserable. You choose freedom, and that's OK. But if a gay person chooses freedom, that offends your homophobic nature because you are too small minded to understand that you are not the only person on this planet?

sure the lifestyle is a choice but the actual attraction to the same sex is definitely NOT a choice.. It's like asking a straight person when they made the choice to be attracted to the opposite sex.

since you couldn't prove whether or not it was a matter of choice, even if it were for you; because you can't speak for anyone other than yourself, what does it matter to you if it's a matter of choice or not?
it's also YOUR choice to be more respectful of other people, their decisions and the way they live their life; not their "condition", it's not an ailment. honestly, why do you feel this even concerns you? and why is it your right to judge them, regardless of whether it's a choice or not?

Half of the Gay men were born that way, the other half were just "sucked into it".
