A woman's monthly cycle is measured from the first day of her menstrual period until the first day of her next period. On average, a woman's cycle normally is between 28-32 days, but some women may have much shorter cycles or much longer ones. Ovulation can be calculated by starting with the day the last menstrual period (LMP) starts or by calculating 12-16 days from the next expected period. Most women ovulate anywhere between Day 11 - Day 21 of their cycle, counting from the first day of the LMP. This is what many refer to as the "fertile time" of a woman's cycle, because sexual intercourse during this time increases the chance of pregnancy. Ovulation can occur at various times during a cycle, and may occur on a different day each month

Women typically ovulate 14 days BEFORE theri next period starts. If you have a regular cycle you can figure it out that way. If not, there are ovulation predictor strips you can buy that will tell you about 24-48 hours before ovulation. They work by detecting the LH surge your body does beforehand, and are taken just like a pregnancy test.

Well, there are special kits that you can use. There are many choices and can usually be bought over the counter at any drug store. I believe that it has you chart your period dates for a couple months to see your ovulation dates, then there is something that involves taking your temperature ( I think inside) because once your body reaches a certain temp, that means you are most fertile or ovulating the most. I never used one, but you should go to your local pharmacy and talk to the pharmasists. Good luck. I hope you do it and it works.

If you have a textbook cycle (28 days from start of period to the start of the next one) then you would ovulate around the 14th day of your cycle. However if you have a different length cycle then you could ovulate on any day a little later in your cycle. It is very hard for me to explain when I don't know you very well....
However......

You can try ovulation predictor kits which work by detecting the LH surge that occurs before ovulation, or you can chart your basel body temperature each morning. A site like Fertility Friend will keep track of your BBTs and automatically calculate your ovulation based on your temps and other signs.

You use a calendar and make note of the days you have your period and then the days you don't. The first day of your period is Day #1. You can tell when you're ovulating by taking your basal body temperature. Before you get out of bed each morning, monitor your temperature with a digital thermometer. On the days you're ovulating, your temperature will change slightly. You can look up this information online to get more help. Just look up: basal body temperature

You know what, they actually make little kits or tests for that that you can buy at places like Wal-Mart or Rite-Aid. Any kind of full grade pharmacy will have them. Every woman's cycle is different. It somehow coinsides with her menstrual cycle. Now I don't know how I just know that's somewhat how it works. But one of those tests is the best way. And you're looking to spend $20 or $30, depending on where you live for one of them. But try that. Hope I could help.

It's the fifteenth day after your period starts, so say you started your period May 14th on the 28th your ovulating, but sperm can live for 2-3 days inside you so if you have sex the 25-28th it's possible to get pregnant.
