why do people think OMG that kid smokes he must b e stupid. its a steryotpe thats bad especially since some of historys most influential leaders have smoked it.

If we as a society would stereotype alcohol as a killer drug it is just think of all the people who would be alive right now?
If one does something just because everyone else is doing it, this is as wrong as doing any other per pressure activity.
Who cares that influential leaders have used, we no this. We know that actors, singers, political leaders, scientists, maybe even your teacher in high school does it. Who cares about stereotypes, if it helps you to function when other medication or um drugs do not work what is a person to do?
Look at all the little kids and adults put on speed (ritilan) these days by there doctors! What is the difference?? The difference is that marijuana is better for a person!
Being that marijuana did not even make the top 10 of the most dangerous drugs and alcohol is right up there, fifth I beleive....make your own mind up.....

It's the number 1 cash crop in the USA. If it was legal for street use, there would be enough controls in place so people would at least know what they are buying--kids get pot cut with other crap all of the time. So do older people, I assume. Legalization would cut out the sleazy people. Less people would wreck their lives if was legal. Now just a misdeameanor pot charge for having a little roach in your possession can wreck your life--you won't get a good job, can lose government benefits, school loan qualification--lots of bad things. It's a big price to pay. Kids smoke it cuz there's nothing else to do in this free country, where opportunity is reserved for the rich. They do cocaine and bigger stuff. Let the little guy have his weed.

If someone is psychologically addicted to it, then it IS a disease. Smoking marijuana is unhealthy, but so is overeating, drinking too much, not getting enough exercise or sleep, etc. The people that view it as a disease have been conditioned to think so. I think most people like that are clueless as to how phenomenally prevalent it is.

I don't use it, but I feel its no worse than smoking cigarettes or drinking alcohol. Its just the government has decided which of those 3 they feel should be legal, when in fact, all 3 are harmful to your health and alcohol, when mixed with driving, can kill others, or even yourself.
We live in a very hypocritical society.

well it is illegal so thats why most people look down on it. Alot of people smoke though and it the most socially acceptable illegal drug there is out there. It doesn't "make" you stupid but it can cause you to feel less motivated. i smoke alot and have a great job and life...good luck!

Well...mainly because it's unlawful,and has in times caused problems.
My friend does it and told me once, that he blew smoke in his moms parakeets face and let it out of the cage.
The dang bird got air borne and made a dive right in a large bowl of hot beans on the kitchen table!
Yep...you guessed it, "the featherless foul" gave up the ghost in the name of "Marijuana" right there in front of his mom and dad eating!

isnt it funny how weed is the LEAST addictive drug, alcohol is the most addictive yet we KEEP letting people drive cars with MULTIPLE DUIS!!!!!!! not to mention work and serve in office! think about it, right now laws are being drafted by people who could be in session drunk like mad monkeys!hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm wouldn't it be interesting if before each session of the house and congress ALL the pols got to smoke ONE joint and that's it???heh,heh,heh!

I know - I consider myself to be one of the more literate and least braindead people on Yahoo answers, however, because i like to have a puff i must be stupid. I think its all these people out there who had a bad experience on it that give it a bad name.

I must be living in magical fairyland, because I've never heard anything to that effect. They may have never smoked it before, in which case you can't trust them anyway.
