My mom has been impatiently waiting to become a grama for over a year now, so I took a close up picture of myself holding the pregnancy test where you could clearly see that it said positive, and put it in a grama picture frame, and wrapped it up and gave it to her on mothers day (this last weekend). She opened it and was like "oh...(like oh, another picture of you.. thanks...) then she realized what was in the picture and was like "OH!! YOUR!!" And the neext thing I knew the frame hit the floor and she was crying histerially! It was soo great, she was soo excited and happy, she said it was such a perfect way to tell her, and the timing was perfect (mothers day). She loved it. So thats an idea.
With my mother inlaw we sent a bouquette of flowers to her that said "Happy Mothers Day, soon to be grandparents day... WE'RE PREGNANT!!!" love toni & justin.
She was also extatic, she called us up crying with excitement!
My friend Jamie got us all together for a game night, and we played the game "catch phrase" when it was her turn she started doing charades (however that game is spelled) to get us all to guess "I'm Pregnant", once we got it, she put the game down in her lap with a huge grin... it was soo funny! we were all like WHAT! it was good.
There's some ideas, hope you find something great!
Good luck and CONGRATS!!!
Toni Lynne :)

This may or may not be cheesy, but I heard of a woman who rented a kangaroo costume that included a joey and made an appearance in it and told everyone that she was expecting a joey.
If plushies aren't your thing, maybe have cupcakes or something made with the message on them. Otherwise you could get fortune cookies made to pass out that include the message in the fortune. I've heard of people doing that to make announcements as well.

Write "I am pregnant" on a piece of paper, and cut it into small pieces like a jigsaw puzzle. Give 1-2 pieces to each member of the family, and let them put it together. Watch who picks it out first.

If you're soon to have a family get together, show up a little bit later. You can say several things then. Like: "I'm late but I'm not sorry"; "Hi Grandma (to mom); Hi Grandpa (to your dad); Hi Aunt ----- (if sister); Hi Uncle ---- (if brother there). They'll get the idea.

After a miscarriage back in February of 1998, I was so very desperate to be pregnant again, I so longed to be a Mom. My beloved OB/GYN, Dr. F., prescribed Clomid, since my progesterone level was quite low. I was to begin taking it on the 3rd day of my period in August.

WELL... during the weekend before my period was due, I felt... different. I don't know what it was. Part of it was a lot of hope, possibly. The day my period was due, August 10th of 1998 (yes, I remember the date, lol), I took a pregnancy test. Lo and behold, it was +! It was such a faint FAINT +, I had to look at it at different angles in the bathroom light, but nevertheless, it was +. I was pregnant.

I wanted to do something so very special in telling my husband the happy news. I came up with a really original idea... This was Monday. During the week I made plans. With the help of my parents, I booked a local hotel room for the following weekend (Saturday night). I went to Pizza Hut (where Alan was working as delivery guy p/t) and talked to them about ordering a pizza with mushrooms in the shape of a + sign inside a pepperoni heart. This was to be delivered to my room on Saturday night, by ALAN, who was not to know. I made plans with both the hotel and Pizza Hut to be under the name "Veronika Gregories"... our middle names put together. Alan was to make this the last delivery of his night.

I went to a party supply store and ordered balloons, one which said "Babies Are Special". I was going to pick them up Saturday evening before checking into the hotel.

So... many people knew what I was planning. Most of the town knew that I was pregnant... but not Alan! My Dad drove me to the hotel Saturday evening, so that I wouldn't have my car there. I took a bath, dressed in a cute little nighty, and waited for the call from Alan's manager at Pizza Hut to let me know that he's on the way. (BTW, I pre-paid for the pizza, so Alan didn't have to return to the store.) I got the call, finally... it was rather late, and I was STARVING!

There was a knock at the door. I opened it... Alan was looking down at the order. He looked up, and saw me. LOL, what a priceless look on his face! I told him that we were celebrating his raise... and mine... I DID get one that weekend. Hee hee.

Told him to come in, and he said that he had to move his car. I said that it can wait. He came into the room, I made him open the pizza box, and I brought out the balloons. He saw everything and it took a few seconds to compute. He gave me a huge hug.

As I dove into the pizza, he went to move his car. This is funny... on the way up to the room with the pizza he ran into some high school kids in the lobby, they smelled the pizza and said that pizza sounds really good. Well... when Alan went back down, the kids were still there, and he was smiling, showed them the room key and they thought "Oh man, what kind of a TIP did THAT guy get???"

Wow... thanks for the thumbs down. Is there something wrong with my way of telling the news to my hubby? What exactly is one disagreeing with?

areal cool way to tell them is to buy a baby bottle and put a test in it and leave it somewhere you know your parents are going to be and tell them there going to be grandparents.
