Get them up feed them pancakes and tell them that you are going to take them to meet some brave Americans. I used to buy during the afternoon sales little bottles of cream, bubble bath, disposable razors, candy, some sugar free. I would try to get some of those caps that big companies hand out. I wouuld try to plan ahead of time, explaining what we were planning to do. Some of the children were nervous at first, but after swapping hats and putting on name tags, everyone was getting chummy. The VA Staff were very helpful and helped the youngsters to hand out tea, coffee and cakes. Then we would play Bingo or Memory games. Everyone of those children sent, Birthday, Christmas and Post Cards. Sadly some of the men died, but this also helped the children deal with death. Our VA homes are going to have many occupants and if you have no elders in your family , adopt a few. Your family will be blessed and your children will have memories.I have many ideas and will be glad to pass them to you if you email me.

Remember lost loved-ones by visiting their graves. That's what Memorial Day was before it was commercialized by hot dogs and grills.
