I have to write an essay on imagery/sensory language in My Louisiana Sky. I am not asking you to write it for me but i need some ideas. (dont elaborate too much, im the one who has to write the essay) Can you list like 1 - 3 examples of how Kimberly Willis Holt uses imagery? (dont list quotes either, i dont want you guys doing my essay for me =] )

You don't really need any of the answers you're asking for; you need to understand that you can get them for yourself! Here's how.

Go through the novel (once or 5 times) highlighting or writing down (w/ page ##):
Things--real or imagined--that somebody tastes.
Things smelled.
Things touched and felt.
Things heard.
Things seen.

Then think about how Holt USES these. That is:
Are they there only because they're interesting or pleasant and will keep you reading? (I doubt it, or your teacher wouldn't be asking this question! But that might be the case with a different novel. And it is probably PARTLY the case here.)
Are they used to tell you what 1950s rural Louisiana was like, and how it's different from where and when Holt expects her readers to live?
Do they somehow help you to understand how Tiger Ann thinks and (emotionally) feels?
Do they contrast Saitter with Baton Rouge?
Or WHAT?
NOTE: More than one of the above may apply.
