Yes it's happened, some people ask first, some don't. It didn't really 'bother' me, it's just a tad uncomfortable, weird. Most people though you can put off just with your own body language. You can tell if someone might touch your tummy, they stare, ask you how far along you are...keep your hands on your tummy (it's almost like you're guarding it) or check your watch to look like you're in a hurry & they'll probably back off, most will anyway. Congrats & good luck to you!

people would try but, i would move back a little a say "please don't"...it's your body and if you feel uncomfortable don't let anyone touch it. I don't let anyone touch my belly except for immediate family like my sis, brother in law and my parents, hubby and the kids. all others were banned fom it including my in laws...i believe that bad negativity can be trans ported but, that's how i feel...besides if i can't stand for people to touch me why would i allow it when i'm pregnant. you have your personal space others should respect it.
i never touch anyone's belly because i feel they might feel the same way as me. if they say "oh baby is kicking here feel" then of course i'll do it...it's a wonderful feeling.
don't feel bad at all if you don't want to get touched...that's normal and other women will certainly understand
best of luck

Oh gosh...yes, I was belly bombarded! Annoying. It's like people don't get that it is still part of *your* body! I always covered it with my hands when out in public and then people learned to ask permission. Congratulations, by the way!

Yeah, that happened to me a lot. It did start bothering me after a while. Why do strangers feel the need to touch someone elses stomach? I don't get it. But, yeah it got irritating.

Yes, they do, and yes it does. I have gotten to where I don't want anyone to touch me.
The worst is the ?'s: Are you sure it's not twins? How much money do you have saved up for it? Are you sure you're not further along? When was your due date again? Are you comfortable? I bet you will be glad when you get that baby out of you.......
The list goes on and on.
No wonder pregnant women are such sour smart alecks.......

Yes, people did it was really annoying. People seem to think that just because you are pregnant they don't have to respect your personal space, which is such b.s. I found that if I keep my arms crossed and did not smile people quit doing it. Or you can just be frank and say "hey stay out of my personal space" Oh and people will LOVE to come up and touch your baby when you have him/her too, so be ready for that one too. Good Luck and Congratulations.

It almost seemed like i had some kind of radar to detect those people coming a mile off... i swear i hated that...i was so protective of my stomach the only people who i wanted to touch my bump was my partner, and my family.... i would always put my hand over my tummy, they got the message loud and clear.

Yes. there's something about the belly that attracts all sorts of people, women generally....they can't resist feeling that new life within....initially it freaked me out, but then I quite liked it! All the best to you....enjoy this quiet time before baby's here !!

It seemed like everyone close to me wanted to touch my belly and I hated it. I hated my best friend and even my mom wanting to touch my belly all the time.

My big belly full of triplets was a magnet.
I got used to it.
My husband could NOT walk past me without touching my belly.
