I take it well, and I serve it accordingly based on the situation and the ethics of telling the truth. Meaning that if telling the truth is going to yield a positive outcome then I will tell the truth. If the truth produces a negative outcome then I would "serve" the truth in smaller bit size pieces to allow the receiver(s) time to "digest" the aweful truth.

Truth is a dish best served cold.
Due to no matter what happens we cannot avoid it despite wrapping it up in religions, morals, concepts etc... A baseball bat across the head with no protection hurts! No matter the after thought we cannot avoid that!
However, truth is always a 3 edged sword. Your side, their side, and the real truth!

I would not have known ever, if I have any courage or any substance in me to be called truly alive if I have not had chances to come face to face with the truth of my life every now and then, however briefly or momentarily. I may not still be truthful all the time, or even most of the time, as sometimes I struggle, sometimes I fall short of my own ideas and often I fumble miserably in the darkness of my ignorance, or ostentations of my imperfect knowledge.
But whatever little opportunities I have been able to avail out of many that shown along my way had made me aware of the fact that truth cannot be harmed or ridiculed; and that within a sate of truthfulness is the true joy of living. A truthful person, however limited he may be within the circle of activities of his life, in reality, and in my view, stands shoulder to shoulder with the great people of all ages whose names grace human mind.
To face life honestly and earnestly and to keep passion and zeal for living burning bright is not a trifling matter, it is matter of serious consideration for both heart and the mind; it is a matter of personal justice, judgement and responsibilities. It is not necessary to wage wars at an epic scale to fight for truth and against falsehood, evil or injustice, one can serve truth at every level. One can be a genuine human being; this alone would be sufficient for a person to be in league with all upon whom their truthfulness and courage has bestowed greatness and honour.
The best way to server the truth is to know the truth, and then once known to accept it openly, with all the might of the heart; it takes genuine courage to take truth.

I think you might be confusing "The Truth" with 'honesty' and there's an important distinction.
Do you know what "The Truth" is? Does anyone? It's a serious question, especially when discussing the matter philosophically (as I presume you are given you chose to posit the question in this section). It is very possible "The Truth" may not even exist in objective terms, or if it does that we would be unable to fully comprehend it. I think honesty is the best we can hope for.
I try to be completely honest with myself - and to myself - but without being unnecessarily cruel or confrontational to others. In most cases where my true opinion doesn't really matter ("Of course your bottom doesn't look big in that skirt!" etc.) I may not be completely honest, but when it does matter I strive to be respectful and diplomatic without compromising my own honesty. My honest opinion, however, is subject to change, partly through this very process
First and foremost I want people to be honest with themselves; I also want them to be honest with others in their dealings and expression of opinions; and to listen and be respectful to others' points of view (though this is probably subject to the opiner being true to the first two principles).
"The Truth", I suspect, is too much to ask of anybody.

I like truth to be at arms length, and verifiable. I prefer to serve it from a soup of compassion and vigilence. I always apologize for bringing the truth. Unlike a lie, it cannot be altered.

I take it well. Bad or good. Good well it's good >:D
Bad, is just a way to fix something wrong with myself (if it is about me & I view it as wrong). I serve bits and pieces of truth to people. Most don't take it well. I think I would really piss off a few people if I told them the 100% truth.

We would prefer to receive our truth served warm, and with lots of superfluous ingredients to conceal its genuine flavor, but more often than not, it is served cold and in the most unpalatable form possible.

It's best served diplomatically; I try to do this, and I appreciate people doing this for me.
However, people's estimates of 'the right amount' of diplomacy tend to vary, so sometimes 'more blunt than you want to be' is better, and sometimes 'more gently than you think' is appropriate.
Trouble is, it's often difficult to tell which approach is correct until afterwards! Sorry to everybody i've got it wrong for...

truth.... i always tell the truth. it is much easier to b honest, it may hurt feelings or make people mad but they will get over it and respect you for telling the truth, and if ya lie it usually leads to you having 2 tell bigger and then bigger lies to cover the first one. i take the truth verry well id much better b told what ever it may b straight up and deal with that instead of feeling betrayed
