I think it is not important who played Jacob this time. He is going to take on different forms in the next three seasons, so how he looked this first time may not be how he will look later. And who knows-maybe we have been seeing him the whole time (the smoke, the dead people who seem to appear-think of Yemi asking Eko why he thinks he is his brother).
