The second to last question here may help you: http://www.kidswireless.com/faqs

Basically you don't give any reason that you think you need/deserve one other than the fact that you're almost 13 (which is NOT a reason at all).

This can be a big problem for young people because without a phone you may end up socially isolated, as your friends have phones and organise everything on the spur of the moment with their phones.

I think the issue is about earning it. Phones cost money. Perhaps you can talk about doing a deal with your parents to do some extra things around the house in exchange.

When you get old enough, you may then go and get a part-time job to do pay for the phone.

Alternatively you can manipulate your parents by having your friends come around and make fun of you in front of your parents for not having a phone.

Being young, life can seem unfair as you don't have control over your life. But also be mindful of your parents attitudes to phones or their financial situation.

Show some maturity and responsibility. Personally, I don't think you're old enough for one. Your school has a phone you can use in an emergency, otherwise, you should be on the bus or in a car with your parents.

maybe cry, throw a fit, lay on the floor kicking and screaming that you want a phone.

You're parents probably have their own reasons for not getting you a phone. It sucks but people did manage to survive without them for thousands of years.

BTW, Wow, it nice to see that someone can still use proper English, (not 100% perfect but better than most) text messaging will destroy that.

i really don't think you need one at this age but i understand peer pressure you probably get without having one....show them you are responbile and can handle a phone...start to look for odd jobs like baby sitting and grass mowing and save some money...ask them to get you a pre-paid one...you pay for it.....this way you cant go over your minutes and you are showing a very mature side by offering to pay for it..this is what i do with my own kids....when they run out of minutes they need to find more odd jobs to earn money to charge the minutes back up..hang in there..

Get older. If your parents are not willing for you to have one yeat then wait, or come up with a way for you to pay for it. Do babysitting, or mow yards or something. Show them that you are willing to pay for part of it, and they may consider.

I was 17 when I got my first cell phone. Be patient.

But if you want it for emergencies - tell them that.
