Gas prices will likely go over $4 in places that have special fuels called boutique fuel. Places like California, for example, will probably top $4 or get close to it. In rural southern areas where boutique fuels are not needed it will likely stay below $4. The boutique fuels are part of the reason that fuel prices can vary so much from one place to another. Without boutique fuels, prices would drop nationwide.

Unless there is competition then gas prices will more than likely go through the roof. We need more alternative forms of energy such as wind, solar, electric, etc. to help bring down the price of gas. As long as there is a monopoly by the oil companies with no competitive alternative, then the price gouging by the oil companies will continue......

it will go as high as people allow it to go. people are still buying big suv's like crazy, I'm no tree hugger but it is kind of overkill to be in a 7 passenger SUV by yourself 5 days a week.
when it hit 3 last yer i threw in the towel, sold my big classic v-8 car and truck.now the only thing that gets gas around here is my lawnmower, i bought an old diesel car and run it on used french fry oil that i get for free.
it's all supply and demand they supply us with high gas prices and we demand to put it in gas guzzlers

If we do not conserve more than likely yes. The only way they may go down is if we find more oil. Maybe it is time to consider the drilling ban here in the US
