Although Bill Hudson IS the biological father, for some reason, there's never been much of a relationship there as far as I can tell. Not much is ever said about it.
I DO know that she grew up with "step dad" Kurt Russell in the home, and he raised her just like she was his own. From all accounts, they have always had a very close relationship. He is the one who walked her down the aisle when she got married; and if I'm not mistaken, he is the one she has always called "Dad"!

Bill Hudson is Kate's dad. He had a variety show in the 1970's. He is a musician and he had a band in the 1970's.Kate and her dad have not spoke for many years.
