Poor listening is all of the things already stated--and making snap-judgements about what a person means without taking the time to actually hear what is being said.

the human ear can pick up any sound, its listening is what requires attention and understanding. poor listening is basically doing what we do natural (hearing) but only pick up some things and understand it.
