Its got to be the paper and cardboard drilling platform.
An oil worker knocked it up for his son at first, but then it was decided to put it on EBay. Bidding started at a few pound, but then got silly. I think the end price was £50 million (although I doubt it was honoured).
The best thing about it was the Q&A. Does it come with a drilling crew? Is there porn in every room (answer to that one was yes, the finest that Sweden can offer, but it is all to scale and thus microscopic).
It was very, very silly.

Two things that weren't actually on ebay - they were on a company E-notice board: 1) A double-glazed window unit with a top opening window - 2 years old - hardly used ??
2) The return portion of that day's return bus ticket - for sale as the advertiser was gettting a lift home that evening!!

One person was selling a petrified penis for $10,000. But, I really not think it actually sold.
One I thought was creative, a young teenager (I assume). He auctioned himself as a "Prom Date". The last I seen on the bidding was $15,000. But, I assume it was Family investing in his College.

not really absurd, but a woman found out her husband had been cheating so sold his brand new lotus elise (which was in her name) for 50p to the first person who could come and pick it up, that is justice !!!!
