If we do, it will be out of ideological furor stirred up by a radical extremist regime. During the cold war, the United States and the Soviet Union were both deathly afraid that the other one was on the brink of "pushing the button", but both countries were rational and smart enough NOT to ever do that.
I'm much more concerned about some radical extremist regime, like Iran or North Korea, deciding that they're in a "no-win" situation and will just push the button in some ultimate act of jihad. This is why it's very important NOT to let nuclear weapons proliferate.

My god I hope not, but honestly I think with the way the world is going it is going to happen sooner or later......
If it did ever happen it would probably be because of either religion or financial / personal gain - someone having something and someone else taking it, like bush and Iraq's oil.
I am not having a dig about the war just using popular opinion as a reference....

I hope there is a nuclear war, I can´t explain my reasons but I think one of the superpowers will eventually decide that it´s time to rid the world of one particular type of people or another

I don't think, it's in the interest of no one!
But if it would happen, I'm afraid would be very short (because nuclear weapons are really powerful, they can ruin a country in a second)

I don't think we'll have a uclear strike until we break down into the Second Civil War. Korea may get tired of us someday, but they'll use conventional warfare.

I think we might see an isolated incident; but I don't see a foe with the capacity to launch a large scale strike who is in a position to do so to any advantage.

I don't believe we ever will...if we did, the world would blow itself up, then where would we all be. Whom would we fight?
I'm an eternal optimist in the goodness of mankind. Maybe I'll wake up soon?
