Entropy - nothing in the universe lasts forever. Aging is a form of entropy where problems accumulate to the point where the system breaks down. All organisms face a constant onslaught of forces working against them: pathogens; injuries; environmental extremes; exposure to toxic substances through breathing, eating, and by-products produced by metabolism; and simple chemical reactions such as oxidation. All of these things cumulatively reduce the efficiency of organs and tissues, and at some point, metabolism cannot produce enough energy fast enough to overcome the rate of deterioration from external factors.

yes, the same reason why your car eventually stops working. You wear out. Repair is costly and always to a small degree inaccurate (or the likelyhood of an error increases with each repair). So eventually more and more of you will need to be repaired (and some part do not repair not at all or badly like cartilage). Also some parts of you are made from the beginning not to last forever (hormonal changes allow your bones to become less dense), so they are not getting improved. Eventually the whole system breaks down, and you go to the great junkyard in the sky.

I can describe natural death only negative, say, what it isn't.
Short: natural death is any death that is not caused by an accident, by a third person, and that's not suicide.

First and foremost, your heart stops beating. That's death in a nutshell.

There are as many scientific explanations for natural death as there are reasons for your heart to stop beating. Cancer, stroke, heart attack, cardiac arrest... it's all "natural death".

Beds are to blame.

Just look at the statistics. Most non-accidental deaths occur in bed. Beds are the most dangerous place on the planet.
