Wouldnt you be a little suspicious if your rich male bachelor neighbor adopted a teenager and you saw them running around in tights?

Lets not confuse things. Bruce Wayne and the various Robins were like father and son - Bruce Wayne accepted each of them as a ward and raised them. Well in the case of the Third Robin, not exactly since his father is back in the picture. Gary and Ace - now those two are gay. lol

No.
He was the child of circus acrobats, hence the costume (shorts, fairy boots, etc).
He was created to provide a light-hearted element to the otherwise dark-and-fritty Batman series (the 1940s comics), and to keep younger kids interested.
As a young adult, Dick Grayson scored the hot alien chick, Starfire, so he was definitely not gay.

many people say so .. but i just think he's just as confused and misunderstood as your average teenager. If he lived in a more "normal" environment, maybe he'd have turned out okay, but living with a dude who wears a leather cape and mask and an old weird pedophilic butler in a city like Gotham (where even villains are all sickos who are into Fetish and S&M (a Riddler, Joker, CatWoman, Two-Face and a Pinguin) .. well that messed with his brain. If only he had wonder-woman to fight alongside him ..

"He" was not a he.
He was a woman dressed as a man in tights.
Hard to tell gender from what was worn.
