I don't understand why in the world a married man would want to get his tongue pierced. I don't have anything pierced but my ears. He got a tatoo about 5 years ago. Thoughts or reccomendations? I'm trying to talk him out of it because I find the "benefits" to be a turn off.

Men stopped piercing their tongues in the early part of this decade. Tell him to pick out another tattoo, or a shiny red sports car. He's going to look goofy with that thing in his tongue. However, it's easy to take out and it'll heal over real quick. Worst case scenario, he can pop it out and try to convince his friends that they had only imagined it in the first place.

There are alot of studies that show that it is a health risk to have your toung pierced since it is an open wound that will never close until you take the jewelry out. Heart conditions, infections, not to mention how juvinile it looks, the broken teeth it can cause, etc. I am with you on this. Just hope that he listens to you. If he is hell bent on it then I don't think there is much of anything you can do to stop him.

Look up tongue piercings on the net and show him the articles regarding the cons of it. If you get a piercer that doesn't know what they're doing then you can have a lisp, lose nerves, becomes infected and etc......

I have mine done and truthfully, its all for show. You have to learn how to talk and eat again and if he is getting it for oral sex, then you probably won't feel it. Honestly, I could never tell the difference between someone who had one and someone who didn't unless I knew. It didn't hurt to get done and it only took three days for the swelling to go down. I have had it for 5 years and it still tries to close up when I leave it out for more than an hour.

If you can maybe give him some con's for having a tongue ring maybe he will change his mind. But if he has tat's and really wants to get it done, I doubt you will be able to stop him! But on the bright side, once it heals, its not like he can't take it out right?

i have had my tongue pierced for 15 years, and there are no benefits, wxcept to say that you could handle the pain, which is HORRIBLE!! for ten days after my tongue was pierced, i couldnt eat, lost 15 pounds, and it was soooo swolen that i couldnt hardly talk plain for 2 weeks. now, its been pierced for so long, that i can go months without it, and it wont grow up. not sure of any sexual benefits from it, my husband doesnt care for it. just an opinion. maybe let him do it, he probably wont keep it

Maybe he's thinking you will like it. I love a guy who knows how to use his tongue piercing, it does enhance things nicely.

Maybe he just wants to get it done.

Have you tried asking him?

If he's not doing it for you he might be doing it for someone else who finds the benefits to be a turn on. Your husband needs to use his tongue to explain himself.

Other than letting him know you think it is gross, there is not much you can do. What are his reasons for wanting to get this done? Is he going through a mid-life crisis or something? I'm not sure of his age, but this happened to my dad. You would think that you told him it is a turn off would be reason enough fo him to not get it.

What kind of man would want his tongue pierced, I am not gonna make any comments, but I would tell you to question him. I have heard the reason why gay women do it but I haven't heard that one yet.
