I just got dsl and a wireless network yesterday. It works pretty good but when I try to download something it just stops around half way. I've tryed not using the network and it works great. Could this be from a firewall on the network or something? Please help. the router is a belkin.

You may have something that interferes with the wireless while it is downloading. If that happens the signal drops for a second and the download stops? What level of signal are you getting if it is weak then you may well be dropping. Not sure what you mean by you've "tryed not using the network and it works great".. how do you do that? If you mean you bypassed the router and it worked great, then you need to recheck the router settings.

This is an old bug in dsl routers like huawei.
It works like a NAT box and based on the principles
of NAT it replaces the IP addresses.
Actually it should be replacing only the IP address
in headers but some routers have a bug that replace
the addresses even in the payloads as they follow
a simple search and replace algorithm that is not
context sensitive . I am not sure if this the source
of your problem. Anyways you can mail the helpline
of your ISP.

I would recommend using a download manager like Flashget
