Smoking is allowed in virtually every part of all casinos. Some books will have a section of seats designated as non-smoking as will an occasional table game but other than that, smoking is permitted everywhere else in just about every casino in Vegas.

Smoking is allowed almost everywhere in the casinos, including the sports/race books. It's the NON-smoking area that are 'rare', not the otherway around.

Las Vegas (at least the gaming industry part --which is most of the city) is very smoker-friendly.

Yes in most sports books but you have to be inside the actual sports book area. But since they passed the Nevada Clean Air act you can no longer smoke anywhere they serve food or in any non-gaming area that means that most restaurants and all common areas of the hotels are non-smoking.

And depending on the casino, some enforce the law more than others.
