Good one.
If I am writing informally I may have been guilty of using it once or twice! I of course never use 'alittle'. I needn't answer that part though because if I read you right that part was added with tongue firmly in cheek!
Generally I endeavour to use correct spelling and grammar whenever I type somthing that will be visible to outside eyes.
I agree with your underlying point. People should take more time to ensure they use correct grammar, punctuation and spelling.

"Alot" isn't a word.
Its "a lot".
Its just a popular misspelling of joining two words.
Another would be "eachother".
I spell them both correctly for the most part, and sometimes when I read it i put it down to a typing error, unless its constant, in which case you know.
But I think the only time I would deliberately spell it wrong is in a text on the phone when I'm trying to save on characters so i dont have to send multiple texts.

i spell them both correctly; i unconsciously keep up the harmony in a language and i say that with no false modesty.
But we all tend to make mistakes like that, so...nothing bad in that, really. Unless you're thoroughly RUINING the language.

alot drives me INSANE! I always spell everything correctly. It's a bit of an obsession with me.

I don't write alot so I don't think I have ever written alittle...
but I have written alot alot...
I just got out a little magnifying glass and checked out your pic and I like it alot.
I'm alittle confused now
