a)There is no need to worry as there is only one way to insert the CPU.
b)Pin 1 of the CPU is on the top left hand corner of the IC.
c)Pin 1 of the CPU is on the top right hand corner of the IC.
d)There is a "notch" or label indicating Pin 1 of the CPU.

For most processors, a) applies.
b) and d) are also applicable for Intel cpu.
c) and d) are also applicable for AMD cpu.

The corner pin should be missing off on of the corners of the CPU. On the motherboard there will be a pin slot missing on one of the corners. Line these up

Here's the info you need...I had to do this too at one time... :-) There is a mark on the corner of the heat spreader of the CPU for orientation...And most all CPU sockets are Zero force (they just drop right in) installation.

from my experience there are usually 2 triangles in 2 corners so it cant go any other way without bending a pin
