I purchased this banjo froma local antique dealer. He did not know its age and value. It has a label that says Harmony and made in USA on it. After iicleaned and polished it, it appears to be in good condition. I will save the strings that it came with. Tere are also about 6-8 finger picks, some are metal and some plastic

I have bought and sold many used banjos. There are very few that are actually worth much. From my research, I have never found a Harmony banjo, even an antique, that was worth more than $100 or so. Be wary because an antique dealer will appraise something like that very high, but you'll probably never get anyone to give you much for it. There are several Harmony banjos on ebay right now, and the highest priced one, which is an antique according to the description, is $100.

take it to an antique appraiser. he or she would be the best qualified person to tell you about the banjo.
