when i was in the wireless internet section, it told me it found 2 signals, one excellent, one poor. (neighboring condos). What happens when you use someone elses signal anyway? I am waiting for my internet provider to send me my own wireless router.. I don't want to use the regular connection on my desktop..

I would just wait for the router. You might be able to connect to one of those devices you see.... but the you are operating illegally.. Not to mention when you connect to them, they are connected to you too! You want them into your new machine?

Just use your regular connection until the router gets to you.Or just go to a local store and pick one up..no need to get it from AT&T any wifi enabled router will work.

Using other people's WiFi isn't legal.

While waiting for your Wireless router, use your wired connection.

Using someone else's connection without them knowing is illegal; however, it is unlikely they'd find out, and if they did, they'd probably just kindly ask you not to.
Wait a minute... you're on the internet NOW aren't you? So what's the problem with your current connection?
