hypernole -a large exaggeration

simile- a comparison between two objects using as or like

metaphor- a comparison between two objects -not using like or as
personification - giving an inhuman qualities

alliteration - repetition of a sound at the beginning of two or more neighboring words

onomatopoeia- words tha sound like their meaning


question: identify each of the figurative devices below:

2. ------------------------ smells like rotten eggs

3.------------------- spot , the dog, planned a devious plan for the cat
4. -------------------- hey ! cabbage for brains! i'm talking to you

1) alliteration -repetitionof "f" sound
2) simile- like rotten eggs
3)personification - dogs don't plan like humans
4)metaphor - brains aren't really cabbage
5)alliteration- repetition
6) hyperbole? (not sure) as fast as she could -exaggeration?
7) metaphor.- his head isn't really any bigger.

One of Marc T's answers is wrong. Look at your definitions and figure it out. By the way, it's hyperbole, not hypernole.
