Yep it can be explained scientifically. In a a visible spectrum, red has the longest wavelength and violet has the shortest wavelength. That's mean red has the lowest frequency and energy. As light moves thru the atmosphere, it bumps into a gas molecule/ dust particles that will abosorbed the light. Most oftenly higher frequency (blue) is absorbed more than lower frequency (red). Then the molecules release out the colors they absorbed, that's why sky is blue color. But during sunset or when air contains many small dust particles or water, they absorbed all kind of light and reflect it in all directions. As some of the lights head towards us, only the longer wavelength (red, orange) can reach us because the shorter wavelength(blue) are scattered out before it reached us. That's why we can see the amazing sky appeared in red orange or pink color.

It's dust in the atmosphere....yes, but it's the angle of the sun that really does it. Light from the sun does 3 things when it hits the atmosphere. 1 direct penetration to the surface. 2 reflection, like from the moon. 3 refraction. the light comes in from the side, for ease of understanding, assuma a flat surface. The light comes in from the side, and skirts along the surface of the atmosphere and across to the other side. This changes the speed of the light wave, turning the color orange.

It's sometimes relative to what you put your head into before looking at the sky.

During my childhood, my mom's friend put chemical stuff in the swimming pool we have at home, and my friends and I could see the sky rose for a few seconds after we came right out of the water (I guess our eyes were covered with a layer of that chemical stuff and that layer would go when we rubbed the eyes).

Its because of pressure in the atmosphere and the gathering dust rises making the sky turn orange quickly

Sun light reflects off of the atmosphere and anything in the atmosphere. Depending on the angle of the Sun, the reflected rays range from light blue to dark red.
