First get on omega 3 fish oils, as they will help with the inflammation. Next loose weight, less stress on the joints. Stick to a low fat diet and see if you have any food allergies. Certain foods will trigger the red hot swollen joints. Keep away from crowds, infections colds, flu will trigger the arthritis. Keep mobile, walk or swim, I go aqua jogging. Joint protection is a must, no tripping up kerbs, falling over stones. Make sure you build up to exercise. If you spent the winter not washing the windows, come spring don't suddenly rush out on the first day and expect to wash all the windows. Check all medications prescribed, note what the side affects are and be aware of them. Make sure all clothing is loose, tight clothing restricts blood flow, hinders lymphatic drainage and restricts joints mobility. Shoes make sure they are flat and broad as the feet will swell up during the day. Keep a positive mental attitude.
