You'll remember that Genesis gives Man dominion over all the animals - basically carte blanche for Christians to be as horrible as they like to all other species without feeling the slightest guilt or sympathy.

Not all do, but there's a lot of it about.

It would be helpful if you could provide a link to your data for this statement, otherwise, it just sounds like you making the pronouncement as such without any evidence to back you up. Atheists only make up approximately 2% of the population, so I find this highly questionable. Also, some people are vegetarians not because of reasons of animal cruelty, but simply because it is a healthier lifestyle (usually).

Honestly, the word "atheist" is something that cannot be....the usage of a word that says one believes in nothing is a false belief or a sad one...how can you believe in "nothing"?...you have to believe you were born and alive in a beautiful world...it doesn't matter what your belief is but you have to believe in something...and statistically I would say that most vegetarians would probably be Pantheists if they really thought about it...Pantheist?..one who believes we are all one created by God to be gods over the planet and work in tune with nature....and a true vegetarian is or should be just that...My interpretation and a loose one at that because I am just getting into it.

What does love have to do with being a vegetarian? Man was put here to have dominion over the earth. That means that animals are here for our consumption. A person can choose to eat meat, or not, and it's up to them.

I was a vegetarian for six years, but it was for purely selfish reasons: I didn't like the taste of meat.

that's as much as them. I actual have been vegetarian via fact 1984 and my faith is the Baha'i faith. i'm on no account searching for interest for my nutritional possibilities, I not often ever point out it to all of us. i admire the belief of no longer ingesting animals; if somebody would not like me via fact of it, I haven't any use for those people besides. via ways, different the early Christians have been vegetarians, such via fact the Essene sect. in the present day, maximum Christian "vegetarians" I meet actual consume fish and or fowl, so i do no longer evaluate them the actual factor besides. no longer that they are undesirable people or something, they only are not vegetarians.

Whether or not you eat meat has nothing to do with whether or not you are a Christian. Christians are free from man made rules such as this. Jesus died for us to forgive us of our sins. He's already done what needs to be done to save us. Nothing we do or don't do will determine whether or not He shed His blood for the forgiveness of our sins. He already did it!! I've accepted it and listen to His voice and read His Word on what is His will for my life and what I can and can't do. He's never told me to not eat meat.

Eating meat is not a sin.

Perhaps you need to first discuss what is a sin. A sin is not based on relativism, where it's whatever you want it to be. Sin is any want of conformity or transgression of the law of God. The Bible allows the eating of meat, or fish - therefore it is not unlawful.

Because meat is good. Vegetarians don't get the right kind of minerals and vitamins (like the Vitamin A that is only found in red meat).
