Dead people are dead, they do not speak to living people, they cannot be seen by living people and so on. In fact they do not see or talk even to each other. Dead people are asleep.
When you think you have seen a ghost, what you have really seen is a spirit, pretending to be a dead person. Spirits do not die, and there are an awful llot of them. And they are talented too! They can talk, walk and rattle a chain just the way the person they are pretending to be did.
So they have you chasing after mediums, and fortune tellers and such. nowing full well that Yahuwah has forbidden such abominations.
If you have problems with spirits (pretending to be ghosts), then you need to read your bible daily. Because only the truth can set you free from these evil liars.

A ghost is someone who has passed away and has not actually passed onto the other side, (heaven if you want to call it that.) You could say they are in limbo. They say this happens when people havent realised they are dead or they have unfinished business here on earth.
We are all spirits, even us humans alive and those who have passed over. Your spirit is your soul, Eveyone has that within them. A ghost is still a spirit but they are still earthbound even after they have passed.

the version relies upon completely on your philosophy on existence (or faith). some human beings see spirits and ghosts as interchangeable phrases describing an identical phenomena. For human beings, ghosts are kinda like UFOs — in that they are phenomena that has yet to have a rational and medical answer. yet for human beings, ghosts are "imprints" (in case you like) of persons who've gave up the ghost, yet their soul has yet to bypass over (often because of the fact of a few unfinished business enterprise or guilt). whilst a spirit is a greater notably developed entity making its presence felt, many times with a message or something from a stronger realm. So (as I suggested), the solutions to the question are many and dissimilar, and rely on the way you grow to recognize existence — even if if from a non secular attitude or perhaps if if from a "a priori" or "a posteriori" attitude.

All humans have spirits. God is a spirit. Demons and Satan are spirits. Angels are spirits. A ghost is not a dead person, but rather a demon posing as a dead person in order to deceive.

there no such things as ghosts... I used to think they existed, but once I became a christian, understood there are only demons, and angels. we each have a soul inside of us, and when we die, our soul will live for eternity in heaven,.....or hell. the choice belongs to each person. the holy bible says,(in the new testement), that when the body dies, you immeadiately go to the place you have chosen while you were alive. life is about choices,good vs. evil, .....I once lived in a haunted house, and i thought the ghost belonged to my x-mother in law, at first...no joke....we even had company that seen the things going on, it kept us in fear for about 5-6 years, my little kids refered to the lady in their closet that wanted the closet light kept on, but also the closet door kept shut, not to let the light into their room, t.v. & stereo played by itself, hat flew across the room in broad daylight, etc....etc... no joke! long story made short,.... I had to have our house blessed with holy oil, and scripture, we became christians, quit feeding into the fear, and it finally left. demons are nothing to fool around with, and with the truth being understood about the matter, if it scares you...talk to it and say" IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST FROM NAZERETH, I COMMAND YOU TO LEAVE" even the bad spirits must follow GOD's WORD. i HOPE TIS HAS BEEN HELPFUL.
