For those of you who do not have a personal relationship with God, why not take a chance and talk to him? What have you got to lose? If you are willing to open your heart to even the remotest possibility that he exists, I can assure you, he will answer. (I'm not talking about a religion here but a one on one personal relationship with your creator)

Why not take a chance? There are two sides to the coin. God is the loving Father but also God is the ruling Father.

To find Gods love means accepting Gods authority over our lives. We would not be able to run our own lives.

That is the choice we have to make. Belief comes later after we make the choice.

But you're right. Seek God. If He does not exist, what was lost? If He exists but is not a good God, then nothing you do will matter anyway. And if He is a good God, then He will forgive honest mistakes but rejecting Him isn't an honest mistake.

Stop talking about God as though God is somehow responsible for my existence. I already have personal relationships with my creators - my Mom and my Dad.

Thank you for the question.

The 18-inch journey from brain to heart is the most difficult imaginable and takes more work than just a willingness to open your heart.

For modern examples of people who have understood the situation, read e.e.cummings and Walt Whitman.

When you understand why cummings wrote his name in lower case letters, you will have a clue to the path.

I like how you put it: "why not take a chance". I like that because it is a chance. A chance that if he exists, that he will kill you. God, according to the bible, is the most prolific murderer in all of Earth's history. A trait is anything but god-like.

Been there, done that. There are plenty of atheists who are former christians

Why don't you take a chance and ignore the god you believe in for a month or so? See how that pans out for you.

You got to level 5 and you're trying the "why not take a chance" line on us?

What if you tried that and it didn't work? Some people are not able to convince themselves that something exists when it doesn't.
