Hey guys, I'm nearly 18 and i want to like experience all the things and be more INDEPENDENT. I want to learn to take my own responsibilities and care and look after myself. I've always had difficulty doing this because i don't really know where to start from. How do i start this whole process on me and how do i apply them.

get a job - gain financial independence. cook and clean for yourself, make sure you know how to do everything to look after yourself - then go on from there - independent travel, a flat of your own...

You are nearly 18, so I would suggest you get a job, start saving money, and then when you have enough money saved, look for an apartment, of course you have to look at the cost of an apartment, and how much your budget can afford, and budget your finances, so you will know how much you can afford.

And if a car is within your budget get a car, to take you to your job and back to your house, and then if you do not want a car because of the high gas prices, then you can always ride a bike or ride a city bus to and from work.

If you have to get a car, you have to check out car insurance and get license plates, and budget the cost of the cost of the car and everything that comes with it!

And clothes, food, and heat, and light, for your house, all of these you have to budget in along with the cost of your telephone bill and you cell phone bill!

If you want to save money, do not get a "land line" just get a cell phone, a lot of people are doing that these days!

Gee, I really hope I did not leave anything out, if I did, then you will get help from the rest of the wonderful people here to answer your question.

if you still leave with your parents..take advantage of it - not in a bad way- but ..get a job, save up money and travel, that way you wont have to spend extra money in paying for your accomodation while your not there. save money and go somewhere either by yourself or with a friend, and you will grow just by taking that step.
when you are done visiting all the places you've wanted to, get a job thats more secure, or study something that will get you a job - a good one-
once you have that..look for small things you'll like to have for your apartment, and once you've collected enough stuff, and saved up money to buy the bigger stuff (fridge, ect) ..start looking for an apartment..and you'll have your own place, you'll have money to pay the bills with, furniture, and you can do what ever you want, whenever you want it, that includes washing up the dishes.

So you want to be independent but you feel that you have to ask others for a gameplan?

Can anyone else spot the irony here?
