A God ?
Many societies worship many Gods ...often symbolised by man made objects!
Trust me when I say , that God has swept aside many immoral societies in the past who have followed these "False " religions & come to regret it !
If you are asking can you deliberately do bad things & then seek forgiveness , that's pushing God's patience ! God says clearly in Romans 6: 1-2 if we can't have died to sin & go on sinning !
It's your choice.

you can't ask for forgiveness or convert to "famous religion" for mere fire insurance you really need to find it in your heart for seek forgivness from God Himself because that is not the life you want anymore

What if, in this whole wide universe there is only one God. So by converting from one religion to another wouldn't help as the judgement is still the same!
