Considering the number of sharks and the number of bathers in the water, shark attack on humans is an exceptionally rare occurrence.
Although there was one last week ... seems to be all Perth way at the mo.

Hey! Um, not many. To be honest we all die from heart attacks and from too much smoking rather than an attack from a shark or croc. lol :P

Not that many. Although a few years ago my hubbys mate was killed by 2 great whites and a couple of days ago a lady wading with her toddler had her calf bitten off in my home town. They are the only 2 I have heard of in years though.

there would be more cancer related deaths than shark attacks. people do get attacked though but it is rare.

Well there was that one in Perth a couple of months ago!
However you have a greater chance of dying from a cocnut falling on your head than get killed by a shark.
Here in NZ we have a few too....much less frequent than in Oz and we tend to get those in the islands (pacific islands) coming here for treatment so we hear about them too.
