Buddhism is not a belief... certainly not a belief in a God.

Buddhism is also not a religion in the way that you find in ane book something a lot of things what is the methaphysical thruth.

Buddhism say always don't belief something becaus a teacher says it or because it is written in books or a lot of people say it is the truth. Only by practiscing yourself and looking than if it is true and helpful fro you, you can decide if something is true or not for you.

Buddhism is a sort of science... but not related to the external reality, but hte science of one own's mind and the way to clear this mind from defilements that crates suffering for or self or others.

All kind of buddhsit meditation are more and more adepted in psychologic therapy, because after 2500 years the scientist see now that the experiences of the buddhist practitionars are true. Even in the neurobiological appraoch in science has now proven that the things buddhsit knew already for two millenneums are ealy the truth. The theary of Einstein is also the prove of the buddhist vision. So in one way buddhism is a science, but not a science to describe the reality, but to change ourself to good and happy living beings.

certainly! The very reason i'm Buddhist. it particularly is a philosophy, that's a scientifically non secular way of existence, as you reported. Buddhism is rather the only "faith" for me :) And, additionally certainly, it does practice to question all issues, even itself, till you may arrive at the two an identical answer, or locate the perfect suited one, purely as sciences do.

Buddhism was meant to be a philosophy but evolved into a religion. It predates the scientific method by a number of centuries but it isn't reliant on faith. "Try it and see if it works" is a bit more scientific

No, not at all. The core belief behind Buddhism is not science, nor releasing oneself from the pain of desire: it is apathy. Apathy and science are two opposites, for science is about investigation with objective logic, while apathy is just aloofness.

Neither. It is more set of instructions that you either choose to follow or not. There is no deity that will punish you if you don't. It just makes sense and doesn't require belief or faith. Test it for yourself, meditate for 20 minutes a day and see the difference it will make in your day to day life. If it doesn't work, nothing is lost.
