The shiny hair that is depicted in commercials is so fake. It is a marketing ploy aimed at young consumers who are baited by false advertising! It looks to me like they use special lighting to make the model's hair appear unnaturally shiny and larger than life.

If I get a wig or get a hair weave.
Just like models in magazines and catalogs, there is a lot of air brushing. I even noticed a former model on an infomercial wearing a wig.
Many celebrities do it. There is no such thing as looking perfect 24/7 without some kind of enhancement.
I wear a blonde wig when I go out and sing on the weekends and it really turns heads and it's a lot of fun.
It's very high maintanance to "do" model hair to your hair everyday.

Yes, I believe I can get model-like hair which has been showcased in an add but it depends on what brand it is, if it is a trusted brand or not. But yeah, sometimes you feel disappointed when you see these exaggerated beautifully hair that looks like hair extensions or a wig!!! That's why I love Dove because you guys keep it real!!!

you can get that model like hair - not without a lot of work or a personal hair sylist. It's all about marketing isn't it? Your not going to put a model on the ads with dull, lifeless hair are you. I have used Dove and liked it but didn't give me any better results than Palmolive. Having said that though, I would buy Dove but not Pantene. Can't beleive people actually use that stuff!!!

Umm, no! I have my neck twisted and my arm bent all the way around to the back of my head holding a brush; in my other hand is the blow dryer, and meanwhile I am trying to reach for the hairspray with my foot! That was a little exaggerated but that's how it feel sometimes. All I can do is straighten or slightly curl my hair-that's it! I can't get it curled nice or supershiny. In lots of commercials and ads, they do use the shampoo they are advertising, but they most likely use professional blow dryers and brushes, making the model's hair look smooth and silky while my hair is wavy and kind of funny looking.

After reading all that the research targets have said,no offence but i beg to differ. I think its possible to have great hair..infact better than the models with the use of right Oil massage[u can do this at home urself],Conditioning..preferably natural, Shampoo that suits your hair..else resort to Shikakai.Do not dry hair with dryer...that saves a lot of damage.Visit parlour once in 2 or 3 months...Watch the hair change.
Pollution, Yes is a major cause...cover ur hair with a scarf..and the same when using helmets.
I have been riding in Bangalore for 5 years at all times of the day,i still have good hair and hair growth is good too:)!

Yeah right!? I don't know about the photoshop thing, that's definitely possible. I think the reality of it is that someone spent a long time getting that model ready for that photo shoot. No one in the real world can afford that! I can't afford to hire a personal hairdresser to hundreds of dollars of stuff in my hair to make me look like that either. It's ridiculous! The models in those shoots are probably using every product but that one anyway. Any woman will tell you, a flat iron damages your hair but makes it look great at first. A blow dryer, the sun, colour, highlights, darn near everything! No one looks like that without a lot of money, a lot of time, and/or a lot of photoshoping

Well, honestly, I don't think so. My hair is such that if I ever have aspirations of becoming a model, I will have to get it straightened, relaxed, and use a load of junk on my hair. Which I DONT want to do, because that can be disastrous in the long run.
But, truthfully, that's the kind of hair I wish i had. I admit it, I'm sometimes jealous of my model haired friends because they can get their hair to look its best with no effort at all, unlike me.
In the end, though, life isn't about hair. There's stuff more important than what sticks out of your head. When you learn to accept the fact that your hair isn't the best, you'll set your priorities right instead of blowing a hundred dollars on hair straightening procedures and stuff. Alright, I don't have that enviable look, but i DO have HEALTHY hair. I don't blow dry, I dont use hair color/dye and I use only reliable herbal stuff these days, stuff that gives my hair a healthy glow. And guess what? I'm happy. :)
