find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Counting calories is always a concrete way to lose weight. And, exercise. Just don't do crash diets- you'll most likely end up gaining back the weight you lost and more, plus you'll screw up your metabolism. And, join a site such as http://www.calorie-count.com. It's very helpful!

Good Luck!
Your only guarantee in losing weight is your own self-confidence and positive attitude! :)

Try the diet plan used by Mount Sinai Hospital for their heart patient for a month. It's an enjoyable way of losing weight. All diet plans should be made like this one.

healthy eating, not too many carbs, drink heaps of water, cut down on sugar and processed food, and exercise, even if its a walk around the block to start with and work your way up to a jog. or try one of those point diet like weight watchers - www.weightwatchers.com.au. or the brittish heart foundation diet which you only eat what they say for 3 days a week, be sure to google or yahoo for that infomation. or there is a fad milkshake diet, one i know of is a chemist brand - www.optifast.com.au.. i have been on all 3 of these diets and they have worked for me,
i wish the best of luck in your weight loss experiance..

A combination of exercise and eating a healthy, weight loss nutritious diet works best for you.

And it works.......

You hit right on the weight loss strategy - losing 1 - 2 lbs per week is the correct and safe way of losing weight.

Try this out:

1. Do cardio exercise (walking, running, jumping rope, swimming....) 3-4 times per week for 20-30 mins per session. This helps to crank up your metabolism to burn off body fat faster

2. Strength train with weights 3-4 times per week for 10-20 mins per session. This helps you to build muscle and because muscle is metabolically active, the more muscle you build, the more calories you'll burn

3. Eat a healthy, weight loss nutritious diet, consisting of lots of fruits & veges, low-fat/non-sugary/non-fried stuff, lean meat, fibre and avoid all kinds of sweetened, gassy drinks.

To lose 1 lb of fat, you need to expense 3,500 calories per week.

You know the answer to this! Consume fewer calories than you burn. So you can eat less, exercise more, or both.

I commend your "nothing overboard" attitude! Walking is kind of painless exercise, if you have the time for it. The problem with restricting calories is living hungry. One solution is to eat lots of low calorie "filler food," rice cakes, apples, etc.

Good luck!

Eat less. Try using a smaller bowl or dish. Exercise more, and keep busy.

Diet, eat healthy, excercise daily, and don't go on a eating disorder.
