Can anyone tell me what would make my cat drool? It's like she's fine, except every time she puts her head down she drools. I don't know if maybe she drank some plant water (I try to keep them out of reach but she finds them sometimes), or what. Last year when I put flea meds on her she drooled and the vet said it was the taste, but I haven't put any on her for about 2 weeks now, so the taste would be gone. I'm really freaking out though, so if anyone thinks they know, please let me know what you think it is. Thanks so much.

Bad tastes do make a kitty drool. So do teeth problems. Look at your kitty's teeth, do they look OK, any brown spots or light gums? Maybe your kitty needs a teeth cleaning or regular brushing. Make sure the plants aren't poisonous to cats, many households are. My cat drooled a lot last time she needed a cleaning, I brush her teeth daily since (It's a simple quick thing). She also needed a mouth infection treated first -- she is part siamese and her teeth are a battle. Good luck!

If she's healthy and her mouth is OK, then it's because she loooves you....

A lot of cats do this. When they snuggle, they start acting like kittens: they purr (a sound that feral cats don't make as adults), they knead (which they do while nursing to stimulate milk production), and yes, they drool (milk is soooo yummy).

If that's it, not much you can do about it, I'm afraid.

My cat also drools but just when she's kneading me or sitting purring by me, and not exsessive. If the volumes are too much, one person suggested to me to have the cat checked for tumors or ulcers in the mouth, as they had experienced that.

Sometimes if they have a problem with their teeth they can drool. You may want to take her to the ver to get checked out.

When my Kitty eats snails she gets all this foam at her mouth, but it does not last long though.
