find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

The average minimum calorie intake for most people is around 1250 - 1500 calories. If you stay around this you should loose wieght. Try to stick with the food pyramid for types of food. Around 10-30% protein 1-5% fat. Fruit and vegetables should be most of your carbs.
Remember that eating is only half of the equation for loosing weight. You should try to find any for of exercises that works for you.
I don't like vegetables either. What works for me is a V-8 every morning. Remember that corn, potatoes, and tomatoes are vegetables too. Good luck.

I am a personal trainer so I feel somewhat qualified to answer this.

Ok. Look. You seem to have a sense of false causation here; a diet rich in vegetables does not cause weightloss just as it does not guarantee a healthy diet.

That being said, vegetables (most of them, anyways) are great for weight loss because they are devoid of calories and rich in fiber. I'm sure you already know this.

I am not much of a vegetable man myself, but I manage to stay extremely healthy regardless. The key to weight loss itself varies for different people, and instead of just being a single factor (like vegetables) it stems from multiple places.

When do you eat?

What do you eat?

Do you exercise?

How old are you? By extension, do you know your BMR - basal metabolic rate?

Have you had a body fat index taken within the last three months?

Are you stressed out in any sense of the word?

Do you take vitamins?

Answering all of the above questions would give me a clearer picture of how YOU as an individual would lose weight. Please keep in mind, though, that weight loss can be broken down into a VERY simple formula:

Calories taken in (eaten) - Daily caloric expenditure (the sum total of your daily activities, cell division, breathing, eating, running, etc.) = Caloric deficit/caloric break-even/caloric surplus.

Caloric deficit = weight loss.

Caloric break-even = weight maintenance.

Caloric surplus = weight gain.

As to whether the weight you lose will be muscle or fat, that is a much more complex subject which is outside the scope of this question.

The ONLY exception to the above would be people recovering from starvation or those very few people with thyroid problems.

Good luck!

If you're talking about eating, then just eat less food.

And you can at least attempt to like vegetables. Carrots are crisp and sweet - drizzle them with a little ranch. You can put tomato sauce in pasta. Broccoli is good with lemon juice. Good luck!

Exercise and just eat fruit instead. Fruit pretty much has the same amount of nutrients, and although it's higher calorie, it's more filling, sweeter, and beats any other food categorie.

Learn to like them. They're wonderful!
Try them in different ways. You'll never be healthy or fit if you don't like veggies.

You don't have to like them all, but jeepers, none of them? I can't fathom that!
