this motor came from my uncles old dodge but im not sure what it is. its froze up and rusty,cant read the numbers

depending on the year of the old dodge would say what size hemi it is.Early fifties 331 ci mid fifties 354 ci late fifties 392 ci and finally mid sixties to early seventies 426 ci.

Plugs through the valve covers is a hemi-head motor...they had a few different sizes over the years and definitely not a 440---never was built as a hemi. Try to find a casting number on the block or a stamped number on the block to identify it....year of the car might help identify it also.

they made them from 331 to 392 cubic inches
made back in the fifties (most likely one of them)
unless it was from the late sixties which would be the 426
dodge never made a 440 hemi the largest was the 426

Its an old Hemi. Some are very valuable to racers. It probably has some core value at the very least.

well if there is 8 plugs in it then its a v8 and if the plugs go in the middle of the cover kinda like a honda car does then its more than likely a hemi..

I agree, that it might be and probably is a Hemi. What car and year did it come from? Those can be VERY valuable!!

Sounds like a HEMI motor to me. Get A serial number off the block. Most likely a 440. But I could be wrong

probably a 440 hemi. If your good with engines, i would definitely clean it up...you can get some good $$ for it.
