Hi could anyone tell me whether it is possible to have tomtom 300 satnav set disabled or traced after it has been stolen. I still have the original serial number/product code.

No way. It's like if somebody stole a TV set from your house and you have serial number, can you disable it?
A GPS device is not a transmitter, it's a receiver, so there's no way to trace it.
Of course it you notify the manufacturer and the thief calls them to register his "new" TomTom...
Can you imagine the thief this stupid?

No, Not possible. You did set a password on it didn't you? That will disable it next time the thief tries to power it up. If you notify TT they may be able to prevent it being re-registered, so there won't be any updates available to the thief or whoever buys it cheap. Bottom line is "when it's gone, it's gone"

Can't answer that but if you get a new one make sure that whenever you park the car, wipe the marks left by the suction pad off the windscreen as thieves look out for these things
