The Roman's were directly involved as well.
His death is for the sins of everyone, so in fact, every people group had a spiritual impact on his death. We all caused it.

Jesus was a Jew. A very few Jews conspired to hand Jesus over to the Romans. The Romans killed Jesus.
Jesus Christ, God the Son, became a human to save all mankind.
The three (non-Jewish) Magi visiting the baby Jesus was one of the first signs that Christianity would reach out to the entire world as a universal (or catholic) church.
Later Jesus treated both Jews and non-Jews like Romans and Samaritans with dignity and respect. In consequence, these Romans and Samaritans became some of the first Christians.
After Jesus' Resurrection, more and more Gentiles became believers and the Apostles decided under the influence of the Holy Spirit that they did not have to convert to Judaism to become Christians.
All of this was long before the Council of Nicea and the Nicene Creed from 325 A.D. which states, "We believe in one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church."
With love in Christ.
