Heck no! The day my child gets hit in school is the day I go after that person with a baseball bat. I'll be damned if someone's going to hit my child. My dad didn't/doesn't even smack her hand. So I'd never let a teacher, or whoever hit her.

Regardless of if I believe this should be allowed or not (which I don't, for the record)...
Kids today are bringing guns to school. What good can come from a teacher raising his or her hand to a child?
Swattings/spankings in school might have had a time and place... That time and place has since passed... The sad state of affairs going on at our nations schools is far beyond being fixed with a few swats on the rear...

Yes it should...it should have never been taken out in the first place! If spanking were allowed in schools there wouldn't be any kids pulling guns and weapons on teacher and students. I am a firm believer in spanking. I got spanked by my parents until I was 20 and I would never dream of doing some of the things that kids do these days. Spanking should go from elementary school right through college.

As a teacher, I don't want the option. Don't get me wrong- each year they take away more and more things we can use as consequences. It's getting tough to be so creative with them. I DON'T, however, want to spank or paddle my students. I'm not against corporal punishment, but I just can't see myself using it on someone else's kid. I also think a principal's time is better spent telling a kid like it is and explaining how to make better choices.
PARENTS should follow through with corporal punishment when deemed necessary. If kids ONLY have consequences at school and not at home, their behavior isn't going to change. If parents want their kids' butts whacked, they should whack their kids' butts.

Yes I think do, then maybe there wouldn't be this much trouble in the school systems. Plus teachers didn't spank for no reason either, you got what you deserved.

That would be quite dangerous since children of today get mad and decide to shoot up the entire school because they got a bad grade on their english paper. Many children do not get this type of discipline at home so it would be viewed as negative and not readily accepted by the children. Although if it were to be reintroduced, children may act better out of fear of their teachers and the consequences of not doing homework, acting out, being disruptive etc.
