Hi,

I ma facing a peculiar problem while working in Powerpoint 2000.

I have developed several PPTs in Powerpoint on Windows Platform and have used several charcter map characters in it.

My problem is that when these files are on Mac OS 10.36.9 using PowerPoint X, some of the character map charcters get displayed as "underscores". I have no idea what is going wroing since it is displaying some other similar charcters correctly. Please help me out

Almost everyone who has ever tried to use special characters on different platforms has run into this problem. You didn't mention whether you intend to start over or whether you want to spend lots of time trying to salvage what you already made. I doubt you can salvage the existing presentation but try opening the presentation on a Windows computer and change the font to something that is installed on the Mac.

Next time, put the special characters in Notepad and take a screen shot of them. Then crop them and put them into the presentation as pictures. Yeah, lot of trouble but it works. I do it often for language presentations with odd characters.

particular. Powerpoint records with Mac have compatibility with Powerpoint records with laptop as long as- If the laptop has an older version of Powerpoint, then you definately could keep your powerpoint in a older version too. If the laptop has a greater moderen version of powerpoint, then it is already well matched with the Mac powerpoint.
