I would seek a second opinion from a good pediatrician. This sounds as though it could be a respiratory problem. Please, check it out further.

How old is your child? When my son was first born, his hands and feet turned purple because his circulatory system wasnt fully developed. It cleared up after a few days. But they never swelled up.
I know you said that you talked to your doctor, but what did he say?
I would say that it is something to be concerned about. He might be allergic to something he is eating or soap that you are using to bathe him.
If your doctor doesnt give you an answer that you feel comfortable with, you should see another doctor or a cardiologist.

get a second opinion I've only heard of kids doing that with a heart condition! Don't mean to scare you though they can be hard to diagnose in small children. It could also be an allergy but to what I couldn't say since bath time and eating aren't really associated- just circulation GL I hope it's nothing

Watching your baby turn color before your eyes acn be frightening. And yet theres virtually nothing to fear when a newborn suddenly takes on a split-color appearance, either side to side or top to bottom. As a result of their immature circulatory system, blood has simply pooled on half of your babs body. Turn her gently upside down (or, if the color difference is side by side, over) momentarily and normal color will be restored. You may also notice that your babys hands and feet appear bluish, even though the rest of her body is pink. This, too, is due to immature circulation and usually disappears by the end of the first week. But check the nape of his neck or his midsection to see if she might be too cool whick could be a reason for a color change....

Only after having a seizure. I think I would be seeing another doctor for a second opinion. After bathing, yes it happens, but after eating, haven't ever seen that. I've worked in day cares, babysat a lot, have 2 of my own and 6 grandkids. The only one that ever done that was the one that would have seizures. Good luck to you.

This sounds like a circulatory or congenital heart condition. from not enough oxygen being pumped into the blood. I have seen this in the elderly when they had another type of heart ailment that I would just as soon not worry you with.
