We just found out that a small accident he had playing soccer 2-3 months ago torn his ACL and the surgery says he needs to repair it. Should he wait to finish his enlistment or she he go ahead and then do the surgery before he attends basic training? Will the recruiter remove him from the enrollment process or not. Please advise.
thank you.

If he passed he is good, here is the deal though, if he discloses to the recruiter that he needs surgery because of a prior injury it will be considered a false enlistment and he will be discharges from the DEP program. Can he come back in after his surgery? If he can show by medically documenting that there is no longer a problem. Good Luck!

Some ACL surgeries heal pretty quickly... others take time. I recommend you tell the recruiter what's up, have the surgery, then wait until the injury is completely healed before setting a new ship date. They will probably require a medical waiver indicating he's good to go. You definitely don't want him to be less than 100% when he heads to basic training. Especially if he's going into the Marine Corps... Marine Corps boot is brutal, and leg/knee/foot injuries are fairly common. Sending a child to boot for 12 weeks is harder than you might think... when that 12 weeks gets extended by a few months because they're lying miserable in the medical platoon, it's unbearable... Get him healthy before he ships!!

he will NOT be allowed to ship while this is pending. He'd do SERIOUS damage..to the point of possibly permantly.. while in Boot camp. and if he fails to tell the recruiter this and ships anyway.. they WILL find out at Basic/Boot and then he will be discharged with a Fraudulent enlistment.

Get the surgery, wait the reqired time period afterwards, and then ship. While h emay be dropped from the rolls during his reghab, he will most likely be able to ship eventually, solong as the surgery is successful and he has not other issues.

if you tell the recruiter about the incident he will want a paper from the doctor to send to his command. Then they will tell you what you can do from there! Don't send him with a torn ACL you already knew about because if they want to do the work they can find out if it starts bothering him in boot camp and he can get introuble for witholding information that could have disqualified him!

I would go ahead with the surgery. As hard-up as the Army is for servicemembers nowadays, they'll wait.

If he was to go in before his ACL was repaired, it would mess up his knee further, and all he'd see at Basic Training was TMC (Troop Medical Clinic) and a profile (meaning he couldn't do certain PT - running, marching - or anything at all). Then he'd only get medically discharged.

Get the surgery first. At some places, getting surgery on base is not adviceable.

I agree with Sparky. Contact his recruiter and get the surgery done. Before he actually leaves for basic, he'll have to do another physical at MEPS anyways. The recruiter can move his ship out date back, or remove him all together.

He SHOULD have the surgery done before basic. Basic training could aggravate the injury, and then he would have to have surgery there, which would prolong his graduation. It's best to have it done before BT.

By all means, tho, let his recruiter know.

start up eating a super variety of water, gatorade, get your self some tetracycline or antibiotics (in case you may get the prescribed), flush your gadget as much as you may. pass see a naturapathic or wellness nutrients keep and ask them to assist. earlier you get to MEPS pee as much as you may. Get all of it out of your gadget. in no way pass there with in one day pee. Pee first and then drink a good deal and a lot of water. a lot of water could desire to offer the try a pretend detrimental or it will be too "diluted" to attempt properly. you're acceptable to stay remote from any weed or drugs. they're undesirable for you and in case you would be serving my military i desire you do it sober. in any different case, you may desire to stay out. playstation : the final advice is stable. Get a drug attempt to examine out your self. in case you are trying advantageous then wait or this could pass on your everlasting checklist. that's acceptable to postpone this now or you would be sorry. So, make certain you will try detrimental or do no longer try in any respect. communicate to your recruiter in case you may desire to and as quickly as you may. Who knows, they probably used to smoke weed themselves.

I think you have to pass the physical to enlist. I would say he would need this done before he can join.I hope not. Good luck to you both and God bless.
