God definitely has a sense of humor. As did Jesus.
There are examples in the bible that talk about him enjoying good association. They could not be serious all the time.
Here's a scripture that I enjoyed, that helped my appreciate the bibles view of humans and their silly attributes;
Heb 13:1,2
Let YOUR brotherly love continue. 2 Do not forget hospitality, for through it some, unknown to themselves, entertained angels
If we entertain the angels without knowing it, we must entertain their creator!
Keep up the smiles.
And yes, some humor IS disrespectful.
Its easy to ask another human some funny question, but to have the guts to look at Jesus, the greatest man that ever lived and ask "Are you bringing sexy back?"
This would be an incredibly ignorant thing to do.
And disrespectful to his father.

So many Christians seem to think that if it is fun, it must be sinful. Unfortunately, they seem to project this attitude to others, who then back away. The God Who made the duck-billed platypus, the giraffe, the hippo, the God Who thought of the crook-necked squash and dandelions, the God Who made the baby's laugh and the young girl's giggle...this is a God Who definitely has a sense of humor.

Unfortunately I don't see any evidence of that, but given that Jesus and his escapades are all made up of speculation anyway, who knows what he was all about. He seemed passionate at least, given his Sermon on the Mount. But a sense of humor may well be missing, more's the pity. I like the image of Jesus walking along the Sea of Gallilee with his apostle buddies and they jump in the water, but Jesus doesn't. So they call out to him, "Jesus, it's hot as hell, c'mon in, the water's fine." And Jesus goes, well, I don't know, but the apostles finally convince him, and Jesus jumps into the water and starts bouncing across the surface. (The "walking on water" business, in case you need an explanation for the joke.)

Hi Adeline. The truth is, the only time God laughs in the Bible is to laugh in scorn. The pictures of a laughing Jesus are UnBiblical, the message that Christ brought was we would all stand before Him for Judgment. Some examples of God laughing to scorn are Psalm 2:4-5:
"He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the LORD shall have them in derision. 5Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure."
In Psalm 37:12-13:
"The wicked plots against the just, And gnashes at him with his teeth.13 The Lord laughs at him,
For He sees that his day is coming."
In Psalm 59:8:
"But You, O LORD, shall laugh at them; You shall have all the nations in derision."
Do not be deceived, God is vengeful and the unsaved of the world will face His wrath. There are those who prefer to think of God as an "kindly Grandfather" who would never do such a terrible thing as condemn you to Hell for all eternity. These people are the unsaved of the world they do not want to face Judgment for there sins.
God tells us very clearly, that those who are unsaved will stand before Him for Judgment. And those found guilty will be cast into Hell. In Revelation 14:11 God warns us:
"And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night."

Matthew saw Jesus as a drunkard and a glutton, a friend of tax collector and sinners. Matthew 11:18-19.
Being seen as that, I believe he does laugh and have a sense of humor.

I believe God created humans for a laugh. I don't mean that He doesn't love us or respect us. I just think that He finds us endlessly amusing.
