Find it so hard to accept groups liek the KKK, and people like Hitler are of their ranks? I usually see it boil down to them going over and saying, "X is/was not a real Christian."

Who defines what a real Christian is? Is there an exam they had to take beforehand, and only real Christians know the grades?

Do they not realize their faith has one of the bloodiest track records in history? Or were those CHRISTIAN LEADERS, also not Christians?

And the Christian will say... Those groups don't represent what Christianity is about.

And then we'll say... COP OUT! Christianity is about different things to different people. Why is Hitlers version of Christianity less valid then your version of Christianity?

And the Christian will say... Because I believe in Jesus's version of Christianity as written in the Bible.

And then we'll say... COP OUT! Whose version of the Bible is correct? The Bible can be interpreted and translated and rearranged in many ways. Why is Hitlers version of the Bible less valid then yours?

Then the Christian gets mad, calls you a name or two and requests that your comments be banned from Yahoo answers.

Christians come in all shapes and sizes. They also come in all levels of maturity. There is an exam for finding if a person is a christian or not. Galatians 5:22-23 is the list of attributes a real Christian should have. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Hitler failed in most of these and so do most KKK members. Next time you come across a Christian, look for these things. If you don't see them, chances are they are not real Christians or they are not mature in their faith. It is what every Christian strives for. Hope this helps.

The world is a violent place, not one group, race, religion or country doesn't have a track record. Anyone can claim to be a Christian, but their life, if it isn't Christ like then they may not truly be Born Again. It is not up to us to judge who is or is not a Christian, but I assure you that Jesus didn't come to save the righteous but the in Luke 5:32 He states:"I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”

There are missionaries throughout the world putting their lives at risk in countries where blood from wars and genocide flows like rivers. They do this out of love, regardless of what a person has done, love keeps no "track records" of wrongs. Jesus died for all of our souls so that we may live.

Do you have proof that Hitler was a Christian? Do you have proof that Christians haven't witnessed to and brought members of the KKK to Christ?

Generalizing a group, such as Christians, as you are doing here is the same as what you are accusing Christians of by saying "Why do Christians always?". Do you know every Christian who is alive or has ever lived and have you heard each of these millions of people you have grouped together in generalization to have personally told you they feel as you claim they do above?

Are all the people you refer to, I am assuming you are referring to the Crusades, confirmed as Christians, or did some of these groups just use the banner of Christianity to hide behind in their blood lust. You should read some historical books on the crusades and maybe, if it is so important that your claim of Hitler being a Christian is true you should ask someone who lived back during WWII and went through hell to keep the Nazis and the Japanese from taking over the world. Because if not for those people who gave their lives in battle you and I may not even be here today and if we were, we surely wouldn't be able to voice our opinions like we are tonight. My dad passed away April 3, 2007 , served in WWII lost sight in one eye, hearing in one ear and carried a chunk of shrapnel in his arm for you and I. Your hatred would make many veterans who lost their lives for us roll over in their graves. Why do you hate Christians so much? Have they hurt you in any way? Have any Christians done something good for you or offered to help you? I know the answer to that question without asking you, yes. My dad was a Christian and He faught for your freedom 62 years ago. So don't generalize people so much. That's like saying all whites hate so and so or all African Americans are so and so. Is it right to make those type statements? If your answer is no, then your question is invalid.

Groups like the KKK pervert Christian teaching for their own purpose. To give themselves some sort of credibility and belief that what they are doing has a higher purpose, they use tools such as 'christianity' or 'the bible'. It's a shame they do not realise that Christianity came from the near east and Jesus was not a white man, neither were his disciples and apostles.
Hitler used the Catholic church as a means in a similar cause. It was politics and game playing.

As for bloody track record - Christianity does not own his so called 'record'..you forget that Christianity is ONLY 2000 years old -- I hope you're not suggesting pre-christian religions were not blood thirsty requiring human sacrafice to appease the gods? Do some more research, you may surprise yourself.

Are you for real? How many times is this question going to be regurgitated by yet another idiot who has no intention of actually listening to anything anyone else writes because they already know everything.

Just claiming to be a Christian does not make you one, if you use that logic anyone can claim any idea/religion/worldview and then society could blame the whole group for the actions of a few idiots .

Also again with the whole crusades/bloody history thing, come on the same thing happened when Islam began expanding its sphere of influence and even Christians were persecuted by people for their beliefs ( Rome, Coliseum, ringing any bells) It was a very violent time in history and Christians were not the only ones who got blood on their hands so get over it already!

It's a simple case of disassociation. We don't want to be associated with them so we pretend to know what we are talking about to make it seem like we were wise about them the whole time.

The truth is, only G-d knows a true Christian when he sees one. For the rest of us, we are instructed to judge the fruits of their life. Now, many of these people died with stained names, but that doesn't mean that they never did any good in their lives at all. This is what the rest of non-Christians and Christians alike have an issue with, the idea that someone who proved to be so evil at the end of their life could have still been a Christian. I point to Solomon, decendent of King David. We hail him as G-d hails him: The wisest man ever to live. The problem is that for 20 years up to the end of his reign, he was not a good king. He was a good king for 20 years, and for the last 20 years he was miserable and selfish and did very little for his people. Does this make him less wise or bad example to others in our eyes? If so, why do we still hail him as the wisest man ever to live?

Like everyone else, we try to deny our heritage, our ancestry, and our friends and relatives if they engage in things we don't consider of worthy merit or good intent. It doesn't change anything, except we just look like fools standing in a court after DNA evidence has shown it is our child continuing to deny having ever even known the mother. We're not fooling anyone but ourselves.

Most religions have bloody footprints throughout history.

As for what defines a true Christian, Yo C has a fantastic answer for you: Galatians.

Hitler or Fred Phelps being Christian does not necessarily discredit Christianity, any more than they discredit Kansas or Austria. Stalin was an atheist, but he's about as far away from my idea of atheism (rational, humanist) as possible. Phelps' Christianity is similarly unrecognizable to most Christians.

The Bible defines what a true Christian is. Most Christians are still growing in their knowledge of the Bible.

Read the Bible, pray about it and honestly seek for truth and you will find it.

Try some Bible studies that use scripture to explain why all these things are so....

How very true. The Bible describes a 'real' Christian as one who stones unbaptized babies, marries women off to their rapists, murders those unlike themselves, hate homosexuals, and never wear cotton-polyester blends.

That's SOOO removed from Hitler and the KKK because, um... because... well, you see...

I would personally like to thank Pebbles for questioning and eat him/her up because he/she is simply adorable.

Wanna pet my crockoduck?

Oh... oh knockout. You didn't. DId you? You didn't just justify millions of torturous deaths, no... Oh my. What a sick liitle soul you are.
