I'm confused.
I few months ago I went out with a good guy friend of mine (we like each other and have told each other, but we understand that this may not be the right time to start officially dating each other). When he parted, he mumbled I love you, and then had this startled look on his face as though I heard it. I know I heard *something*,but looking back, I'm pretty sure that's what he said.
He said I had a good time, and then left kind of abruptly.
Guys, would you say I love you if you didn't mean it?

Not like that, if your afraid to say it, you probably mean it. Women are stupid though, you know how many times I've heard on here women saying gotta dump this guy, he said i love you and I don't feel the same. Guys got some balls just saying it, blood hounds are just waiting for those words so they can pounce.

I certainly wouldn't say it if I didn't mean under the circumstances you mentioned. It's not something I would "intentionally" do at all. There are a lot of guys who would though, and it depends a lot on the circumstances.

im a chick but i have to answer this sorry. i think he meant it though. by the way he said i love you to you , i can tell that that was something he was feeling but he didnt really want to tell you because he was probably scared of what your reaction would have been. good luck onfinding your answers.

That answer isn't a simple one, and varies from person to person. I think you will have to determine if he meant it. What kind of person is he? You might also want to consider just asking him. It might be a little awkward, but it will make things clear.

Not trying to be funny or anything but sometimes if sex is involved guys will say it and not mean it. I personally don't.
