Well I was in a wreck in January this lady ran a red light and hit me. I had a brain concussion and now the left top of my shoulder where the neck is numb...I am in therapy for that and now the past 2 weeks I have been getting a pain in my neck in the front where the veins are by the collar bone almost and then is shoots down to my shoulders...What could this be and should I be worried?? Please help!

Veins don't have pain nerves so don't focus on those. I have been is several auto accidents and you should ask your doctor or the person doing your therapy to consider if you have pinched nerves, I did and the shooting pain can be addressed by different therapy and sometimes massage.

This is all related. You have a muscle that goes from the base of your skull just behind your ear, down the side of your neck towards the front where your collar bone is. If it is very tight you can feel the pain around your collar bone. Ask your therapist to show you how to stretch it - not just on the side by on the front too. I use doorway stretches but you can use the corner of the room to. Put your hands on the sides of on open doorway at about shoulder height and lean into the open doorway until you feel the stretch. Resume your starting position.....do it again. Do 10 reps 3 times a day. It will take a few days to begin to feel relief - it's a strong muscle! Don't get discouraged and expect relief immediately. You should also each night use moist heat (take a washcloth and soak it in hot water as hot as you can handle, wring out excess water, and place over the area for 10 minutes. Do this 3 times. I prefer to use the heat before I stretch - I find I get better, more effective stretches that way. Here's a picture of that muscle. Good luck.
