well isn't fat the American average? Plus, who would put that they are obese online? Finally, they don't give you many options when choosing your body type on myspace. If I had to say anything about my weight I'd say "not the best, but working on it" however that option is not on there.

maybe because people are trying to create a virtual image of who they want the world to see them as. I must admit, personally I have an overextended belly that I just can't seem o trim off my gutline. I can still see my feet and kneecaps and I think that, on average, I am about as overweight as most 43 year old males who married a woman who fed them well.

Some people do not like the discrimination they face for being fat. Perhaps they just want to be given a chance.

Perhaps they are delusional L.O.L. or maybe they mean average compared to other fat people. But seriously ,maybe they just feel comfortable saying average. No one wants to feel that they are abnormal compared to others, especially not in cyberspace.

On the internet they can pretend to be whatever they want!

Not to mention, no one really likes to admit they are fat. That's why they say they're average and "curvey".

Maybe they should also ask for "height" -- then we would find that all these people are not OVERWEIGHT, but UNDERTALL!
